$400,000 Retreat for AIG at Taxpayers' Expense

American International Group Inc. (AIG) received $85 billion from the federal government to prevent them from going bankrupt. Where did this money go?

Days after the bailout, AIG spent $440,000 on a luxurious retreat for its executives--a retreat complete with spa treatments, banquets and golf outings.

In this time of economic crisis, many American taxpayers are struggling to afford the rising costs of food, healthcare, and housing. And yet, our taxes are being used to pay for spa treatments and golf outings for greedy corporate executives?

Tell AIG executives that we will not pay for their lifestyles of excess, when millions of Americans cannot afford basic necessities.

Demand that they pay back the treasury $440,000 to cover the cost of the retreat and that they work towards repaying American taxpayers the 85 billion dollars that kept them from going under.

Dear AIG executives,

Your company received $85 billion from the federal government to prevent you from going bankrupt. This money is paid for by hardworking taxpayers, and we do not like that you used some of this money on a luxurious retreat--complete with spa treatments, banquets, and golf outings.

American taxpayers are struggling to afford the rising costs of food, health care, and housing. We will not agree to pay for your lifestyle of excess when millions of Americans cannot afford basic necessities.

Please pay back the treasury $440,000 to cover the cost of the retreat and please work to pay back American taxpayers the $85 billion that kept you from going under.

Thank you for your time.
